50 Things to Do This Christmas

This Christmas has definitely been at least a little different to most others, but some things haven’t changed (like gingerbread making day with the fam!) I know Christmas itself has passed now, but there’s still lots of fun holiday things to do before school and work start back again, or just before the new year! It is often difficult to embrace change of any kind, but keeping a little normality and sticking to a few traditions can make things feel a little less strange.

That’s why I thought it would be fun to come up with a list of 50 things you can do to make the holiday season as Christmassy and cosy as possible!

    1. Yes, I do! I’m a Christian, so I believe that the reason for celebrating Christmas is to remember and be thankful for the birth of Jesus. (I actually have a post more about this titled ‘Jesus Is The Reason’ under the Faith and Inspiration category of my blog if you’re interested!) So yes, Jesus is the reason I celebrate Christmas but I also enjoy the holiday season (as you can tell from this post haha) which is mainly what the ideas on this post are about. I hope that answers your question!!

      1. Okay, thanks for the post.

Of course, almost every body who celebrates this holiday enjoys it.

        Yes I can tell. 🙂

Do you think that Jesus wants you to be celebrating this holiday?

        1. Yes, I would say that Jesus would want us to be celebrating Christmas. Because the fact that God sent His only son to earth as a baby is a pretty big deal, so I think it’s important to remember all this and celebrate it! Thanks for you question and hope that helps! 🙂

          1. Yes, it is petty cool that god sent his son. Did you know that there are some pagan roots in Christmas? As there are some of the other celebrations that Christians do as well.
It says in Deuteronomy 12 that God said not to worship Him the way the other nations worship their gods. Have you considered this verse? If God doesn’t want us – His people – to be worshiping Him the way that other people worship their gods, and if Christmas is pagan in practice and root, then why do we as Christians today worship Him in that way?

          2. No, I didn’t actually know that Christmas had pagan roots (although I do now! 😉)
This gave me something to think about, so thank you for challenging me! I had a read through Deuteronomy 12 and I see what you are saying. After thinking about it, I would probably say that for (most) Christians, we celebrate Christmas to remember how God sent Jesus to earth to save all people. Therefore, I would say we’re celebrating a Christian festival separate to the Pagan winter solcitce which may be at the roots of the Christian festival of Christmas. We are also worshipping God in our own way at Christmas- through prayer, reading the Bible, attending Church and singing worship- these are the ‘Christian way’ of worshipping God and celebrating Christmas, not the ‘pagan way’. What do you think? Thank you for challenging me on the subject!

          3. Ok, but even if you are doing it for Jesus, Does that make it right? God still says not to worship him the way the other nations worship there gods.
I know that this might lead you down a rabbit hole, but have you ever researched the symbolization of the tree and the wreath? The symbolization is just mind blowing!
I would definitely suggest that you do research on it.

          4. Well I think I would say that putting up a Christmas tree or hanging a wreath on your door isn’t really an act of worship- it’s more enjoying the holiday (holiday- not Christmas) season. Of course, you don’t have to do this things at all though. Alternatively, going to church, praying, reading your Bible and other forms of worship are the ways in which I worship Jesus at Christmas and thank God for the greatest gift he ever sent. But I know what you mean… I’m going to think on it a little more. And I will definitely do a little research! 🙂
