Current Favourites

Hey there, you! Yes, you, sweet friend! How are you doing? How is your life at the moment?

This is a post I’ve wanted to do since like January haha- I was going to write it in February and call in ‘February Favourites’ but I never got around to it (clearly) so I’m writing it now, and giving it a much less attractive title! Anyway, I thought it would be fun to share some of my current favourite things- from foods to movies to books and more!

Let’s get started!

PODCASTS

I love a good podcast, so I thought this one would be a great one to start off with! Last fall I was really into listening to one each morning on my way to school, but recently I haven’t listened to so many. However, a few content creators I love have recently started podcasts, so how could I not share them with you? A few I’ve been loving are Coffee With Rach, The Have Faith Podcast, and Jess Sharing Joy. And a handful of my old favourites include The Girl Defined ShowTruth Talks With TaraWOAH That’s Good Podcast and She Lives Purposefully.

FOODS

Oh my gosh, where do I even start, haha! Okay, so a few foods I’ve been loving recently (and always) are sushi, smoothie bowls and avocado and fried egg on toast. As for drinks, oh my gosh, my friend got me into vanilla chai tea and it is SO GOOD! I brew it in a 1/3 mug of boiled water with a tiny bit of honey, then I add hot milk to the next 1/3 and finally frothed milk and cinnamon on top. I repeat: SO GOOD! And another one, if you know me you know I can’t get enough whipped coffee- it may be out of trend now but it is still as delicious as ever!

BOOKS

I recently read Girl Defined by Kirsten Clark and Bethany Baird, and Live by Sadie Robertson… and I loved them! I actually published a post the other day with my top five books for teen Christian girls, and those two featured! The other day I finished Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas and I’m about to start Karen M. McManus’ newest book The Cousins.

PURCHASES

a few of my newest pineapple island bracelets!

I LOVE friendship bracelets of all descriptions, and recently I got a new order from Pineapple Island. I have always loved their jewellery- it is so simple, summery and gosh-darn adorable!!! And bonus, I have a code for you guys to get 20% off any orders from there! Be sure to use the code MEGAN20 at checkout if make a purchase (which I would recommend haha). I’ve also bought a few summer clothes (can not wait for summer) and a handful of books!

(P.S. If you do use my Pineapple Island code, please know that I may earn a small commission from any purchases made.)

MOVIES

If it’s not a 90s or 00s high school romance, I don’t want it! Seriously! My sisters and recently re-watched a classic favourite of mine- A Cinderella Story– and oh boy, do I love it every time! Another couple recent re-watches of similar genres are Clueless and 10 Things I hate About You. So I know these next couple of movies don’t fit the ‘90s or 00s high school romance’ criteria, but they’re what I’ve watched most recently! On a family movie night a few weekends back we watched Harriet, the story of Harriet Tubman. It was moving and interesting- definitely recommend. And I know I’m sappy and cheesy okay, but I was SO excited when the third To All the Boys Movie: Always and Forever, Lara Jean came out on Netflix. If you haven’t watched those, please do!

WORSHIP SONGS

I am constantly adding songs to my Spotify playlists- most lately I’ve been adding tons to my worship one. A few of my newest additions include I Belong by Orphan No More Co, Battle Belongs by Phil Wickham, Now I See by The McClures, Fierce by Jesus Culture, and Hold On To Me by Lauren Daigle.

SEASONAL THINGS

You guys! I am SO unbelievable excited for summer! It’s coming, and I CAN. NOT. WAIT!!! So I wanted to share a few things that are getting me excited for spring and summer! Firstly, I’ve been making the most of hot drinks because I won’t be enjoying them for much longer! Secondly, I brought a couple of summer dresses the other day which I can’t wait to be able to wear! Trees are beginning to blossom here in London, reminding me that bright, green trees will be on the way soon! And some days I’ve left the house without a jacket! So, slowly but surely, winter is turning to spring and spring to summer, and that brings me so much joy!

Sweet friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed this little dump of my current favourites! Do you have any new favourites? Or anything you’ve been loving lately? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. OO! AWESOME! This was so fun to read! I went shopping recently, and I bought a bunch of winter clothes, lol. They were all clearanced, so that is why I got them. I’m excited for summer, too!

  2. I love the Girl Defined podcast too! I’ve also been enjoying the Have You Heard podcast by Emma Mae Jenkins. She’s very sweet and grounded in God’s Word. And I’m super excited about Summer as well! Although it won’t be coming for about a month or two where I live, so I’ve still got a bit to wait, sadly. Lovely post, dear! ❤

    1. Oh yeah, Emma Mae Jenkins is so sweet! I don’t listen to her podcast but I do follow her Instagram and she seems so lovely and, like you said, grounded in God’s Word! Summer is a little ways away here in London too, but I’m super eager haha so I like to get excited for it ages in advance! I was getting out the summer clothes the other day hehe! Thank you for reading and commenting, sweet Grace! 💛

  3. Hey, amazing friend!! I loved reading this post, it was so fun!! I love smoothies too, and I am also soooo excited for summer! *screams head off* To be honest, I’m feeling like I’m dragging a bit .. not doing as well or as much as I know I can in piano, and my parents really want me to, so it hurts ME to disappoint THEM. *heaves big sigh* But I made an action plan to practice more, so hopefully that … works? XD Other than that, I’m doing well, but … reeeeeally tired!

How are you doing, girl? Anything crazy going on emotionally? (because, as my bro says, women are emotional … *rolls eyes but still laughs*
    Love ya!

    1. Hey! Thank you, sweet Makayla!! Gosh, your excitement for summer makes me even more excited hahaha!

Ah, it’s so frustrating when you feel like you’re sort of just dragging along a bit- especially with things like music practice or school! I had something similar recently where I wasn’t able to record a couple of pieces on clarinet for my band and I worried I was disappointing my mom! But a practice action plan sounds good- I like to jazz up my practice by doing different things and ‘games’. I’m glad to hear that you’re doing good otherwise though! (well, except super tired!)

I’m doing alright, thank you so much for asking!! Hahaha, brothers can be so straight to the point 😂 but yeah, I’m doing okay- school is an awful lot at the moment but I’m getting there- I only have a few more months of all these exams!

Haha this was so so long, but thank you for reading and commenting!! Love ya too!! 💛🤗

      1. Ahhh, I loved your long comment!! 😂🤗 I know, school always seems to be the bane of our lives, but at least right after all those exams is … THE SUMMER!!! (Hehe … as a homeschooler, I don’t have any exams, but I do have a term paper I need to write. I should probably work on that today! XD Thanks for the encouragement, Megan! Love ya!
