Happy April, friends! How are you doing? How’s life? What’s new? The weather here in London is slowly warming up and spring has arrived for sure. I’ve done a few life updates recently but it’s been a hot min since I’ve shared a week in my life, and I think I mentioned recently that I’ve been wanting to bring back the lifestyle content, so here we are!
We’ve been off school this week and last and last week my fam took a trip to Yorkshire which was super lovely, we did a ton of walking and hiking which we all (especially the pup) enjoyed. We watched loads of movies, played lots of games, and relaxed a bunch… it was so nice to have a break from every day life and to be outside so much too! So here ya go, a week (away with me) in my life!
Sunday
Road trippin’! But okay I actually love car journeys… speeding down the motorway blasting Rhett (iykyk) only stopping for lunch and snacks haha! Didn’t get too many pictures but when we arrived at the cottage we unpacked and watched a movie. We were staying in the most stunning little cottage right on a river, surrounded by rolling fields and sheep… so pretty!
(Didn’t get any pictures from today)
Monday
Today was a super fun start to the week, we drove into the Lake District and walked around a little lake and through a pine forest. We made a pitt stop for coffee and food and then set off on a hike to some caves in an old quarry… we finally found them after over an hour, and they were absolutly stunning! We climbed up to another part of them and lifted up the dog, but then he couldn’t get down so we found a way out through some old mining tunnels which was quite an adventures. All together a pretty funny experience!

Tuesday
Tuesday morning was a pretty chill one which was sweet. In the afternoon we hiked through a place called Swaledale which had all these old farming buildings that were kinda fun to find! We walked mostly along a river that wound through a valley, and the scenery was absolutly stunning.

Wednesday
Todays hike was a super wet one, but we thrived regardless lol. Again, beautiful scenery, we walked across a couple old viaducts through this valley we were in, which was pretty cool… it’s cray standing so high up in the middle of a valley… the wind was deafening! Cooper also had his first encounter with goats…

Thursday
By far my favourite day! We did a couple of hikes up hills and had the most breathtaking views over one of the lakes. The second of the two took about half an hour to get to the top but it was so high up that there was a tiny bit of snow… the first snow I’ve seen all year! The highlight of the day though… scroll for sunset pictures <33

Friday
To round up the week, my dad and I hiked out towards the summit of this hill which is known for having nine stacks of stone on top, known as the Nine Standards Rigg. We were short for time before we had to head back to London so we didn’t make it all the way, but it was a lovely walk, and the weather was the best it had been all week! We left the cottage around noon and were back home by sevenish, after having made an all essential trip to starbucks of course 😉

And that’s about it, friends… pretty much everything I got up to last week. Let’s catch up down below… have you been away anywhere recently or gotten up to anything fun at all? I’d love to chat with you!

Megan, your pictures are gorgeous! The British countryside is so lovely!! I honestly love hiking in cool weather; cloudy days make for a refreshing breeze! Thanks for sharing another week in your life – I loved reading all of this! 🤗 (And lemme just say, your hair is amazing!!!)

Hi Megan! I just came across your blog today (call me Lily, btw). I loved seeing your photos, especially the bridge. That looks so cool, and I’d totally be up for exploring caves. Also, your puppy is absolutely adorable. Is it a poodle mix?
Thanks for sharing a fun update with all of us 🙂
